Colton Harris

Colton hails from the mountains of southwestern Montana. As a teenager he explored the remote wind-swept peaks with a climbing mentor and fell in love with the freedom of movement and accessibility that climbing offers. At age 19 Colton discovered ice climbing and delved wholeheartedly into the ethereal world of columns, daggers, slabs and runnels. Five years later he enjoys many disciplines of climbing, with cracks being one of his favorite endeavors when the spring thaw arrives. Climbing has given Colton the opportunity to travel and explore the red-rock canyons of Utah, the beautiful and varied landscapes of New Mexico, and the peaks of Colorado and Wyoming.

Colton recently made the move the Munising, lured by the inexhaustible supply of climbing objectives and an opportunity to instruct amidst a community of outdoor professionals who share his stoke for climbing and the outdoors.

When he isn’t climbing Colton enjoys photography, Edward Abbey novels, cooking, skiing, biking, Pink Floyd, and feverishly sharpening his ice tools in anticipation of the coming winter.
