Emily Gantner was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area and now calls Marquette her home. In 2014, Emily started attending college at Northern Michigan University where she studied Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management.
Emily started ice climbing three years ago when she took one of Bill Thompson’s ice climbing through NMU and instantly fell in love. In her senior year of college, Emily did her internship with the Michigan Ice Fest and continues to guide today.
In her free time, you’ll find Emily swimming or paddling in Lake Superior with friends. Come winter time, Emily spends all of her time ice climbing at Pictured Rocks.
