We are excited to announce a recent streak of cold temps has the ice forming up quite nicely. Over the weekend reports came in of everything along Sand Point Road is in…..although some of the pillars being quite thin. Sounds like the Ampitheater and the Dryer Hose both has ascents over the weekend and our six day forecast looks like they will start to grow. More importantly the back country is looking amazing! The Michigan Ice Fest Guides did a guided trip out to Bridalveil Falls and the Rim and both were stellar!
If you are coming up this weekend and planning on venturing out in the back country don’t forget to bring some back country skis to get out to the good stuff! Miners Castle Road is plowed to Carmondy Road and then is is snowmobiled packed out to Miners Castle and Miners Beach.
If your group is planning on renting any gear the Munising shop is located at 112 Elm Ave in Munising. Their store hours are: Monday-Thursday 11-5pm, Friday 11-6pm, Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday 11-3pm
