On top of being one of the world’s best paddling destinations, the Munising area offers wide variety of activities off of the water. While you’re not paddling or enjoying the Ladies of the Lake socials, we recommend you check out more of what this amazing place has to offer.
Hiking – With hundreds of miles of trails in Pictured Rocks and the Hiawatha National Forest, the Munising area offers endless opportunities to stretch your legs. More than a dozen waterfalls, towering dunes and ancient forests await the intrepid walker.

Biking – From casual rides to serious single track, you can find it all in Munising. Trails at Valley Spur (a cross country ski area just out of town) and on Grand Island make for a lot of variety and pedaling in some beautiful settings.
Other – From shopping to gambling, chances are whatever you’re into can be found near Munising. On top of the wild and rugged beauty of the area, there is also a vibrant and lively community that is always a joy to explore.
