With the fresh snow in Marquette and cold temps we are looking forward to a great Noque weekend! Hopefully everyone has been training hard and getting ready for the big race. I know Jeff, has been having a blast on the Monday Night Skate Ski lessons and is excited that some of his participants are challenging themselves by entering the race.
If you haven’t started to wax your skis yet here are our latest wax suggestions:
Noquemanon Ski Marathon January 26, 2019
Weather Friday night low temps will drop to ~-10F. Daytime high temps for Saturday are expected to be 4F. Goal with waxing in these temperatures is to harden the base properties of the skis as much as possible. Make sure to scrape all wax really well and spend extra time brushing your skis. Any wax that is missed in structure or grooves will dramatically slow the ski.
Elite Wax Suggestion $70.00 application process at Down Wind Sports (while supplies last)
LF black – scrape and brush. Blue with x-cold powder mixed – Scrape and brush (more X-Cold Powder will be in stock Friday at DWS)
Jetstream Blue cover 3 Thin layers of x-cold toko for grip over green base wax (thin)
Budget (but still want to beat your friends. ) options that work very well in cold weather as standalone layers $45 (application at Down Wind Sports)
Start Green or LF or CH4 swix or NF or LF BLUE took mixed with x-cold powder if you have some Grip – Green (3-4 thin layers over a sanded grip zone).
Just a reminder that all nordic clothing and equipment will be on sale all weekend long so stop by before or after the race to check out the deals!
GOOD LUCK RACERS!
