Marquette and Houghton Michigan offer terrain to challenge any rider. The single track in the U.P. offers scenic vistas and incredible riding action. There are enough networked trails to keep you entertained for a few hours or a few years. Come enjoy the rugged beauty of UP single track. We have trails and hills that will make you wonder if you are still really in the Midwest!

Jr.  Mountain Bike Team

 

 

This is the 10th year of the Junior Mountain Bike Team! 

We were thrilled with the success of last year’s team and look forward to another sensational year.  We have planned a season full of riding, learning and fun.  Through the course of the summer we will discuss everything about mountain biking, from maintenance to training schedules.

 The team will meet weekly beginning on June 15th.  

We will meet each Tuesday morning at 9 AM at Tourist Park.

Our riders can expect to have a brief lesson each week discussing maintenance, nutrition, racing and other aspects of riding.  We will then take to the woods in our ability appropriate groups and ride on mountain bike trails for the duration of the 2 hours.  We will ride over logs & rocks, down & up steep hills.  We will negotiate challenging corners and different terrains.  Most importantly, we will have FUN!

The Giant Bike Demo Tour will be invading Ishpeming and Marquette!

Come test ride a Giant Bike at Jasper Ridge in Ishpeming on June 23rd and in Marquette on June 24th (South Marquette parking area). 

Down Wind Sports will donate $3.00/test ride to the trails.  Come out and ride the latest in Cycling technology from Giant Bicycle Co.  We will have road and mountain bikes to test out!  Demos start at 5pm in Ishpeming and 4pm in Marquette.  Both demos will end at 9pm.
