Laura Slavsky

Born and raised in Marquette, MI, Laura spent much of her childhood exploring the outdoors of the Great Lakes area. She was introduced to climbing in high school, and enjoys climbing on both rock and ice. In college, she studied environmental science and Spanish at Alma College, and received her Masters of Forestry from Michigan Tech.


Laura is a certified Single Pitch Instructor through the AMGA. She is passionate about introducing others to climbing, whether it be for the first time or looking to sharpen skills. She enjoys being part of the climbing community, and has served as executive director of the UP-based youth climbing non-profit the Pictured Rocks Climbing Academy. She has also served two terms as a community ambassador for the national climbing non-profit the Access Fund.
