Front Country Guiding
This course is designed to introduce the beginner to the sport of ice climbing. What better way to shorten your learning curve and learn proper ice climbing technique then to take a class from one of our professional instructors! Learn equipment selection, tool placement, stance, and ice climbing technique. All classes are taught in the front country along Sandpoint Road. Climbs range in height of 20-60 feet.

Front Country Night Climb
Embark on an exhilarating and unforgettable adventure with our Front Country Night Climb! This 3 hour adventure is designed for people who want to experience ice climbing under the mystical cover of the night sky. Under the guidance of experienced and certified instructors, you’ll learn the techniques and safety procedures necessary for ice climbing while experiencing the unique challenges and beauty of a frozen world after the sun sets.
$175 per person
Back Country Guiding
This course is designed to introduce the intermediate ice climber to some of the larger formations along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore / Grand Island. Upon entering this class the student must have knowledge of the basic gear and techniques including rappelling, associated with ice climbing. Course locations will be determined the day of your guided climb and will be determined based on weather and lake/ice conditions.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising is the center of the ice climbing world in the Upper Peninsula. It’s where we run nearly all of our trips and where we’d suggest you go to climb. Whether it’s your first time or your 500th, it’s always amazing.
But, if you’re looking to branch out and see some of the other ice that Upper Michigan has to offer, we’d be happy to help. Our guides wrote the guidebook on the area and can help you discover something new from Munising to Black Creek and beyond.
