Westley was born and raised in southwestern Pennsylvania. He found climbing at the age of 8 through his father and Scouting. While attending Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, he began climbing full time and was hooked! After his tenure as a gear rep for Grivel, Beal, Singing Rock, Cypher, and others Westley jumped into the world of guiding by heading to southeast Alaska where he continues to guide single and multi-day expeditions in the Chilkat, Takshanuk, and Coast Mountain ranges during the spring and summer months. When colder temperatures arrive you can find Westley climbing ice, summiting peaks, and backcountry skiing.
