Front Country Guiding
This trip is designed to introduce the beginner to the sport of ice climbing. What better way to shorten your learning curve and learn proper ice climbing technique then to take a class from one of our professional instructors! Learn equipment selection, tool placement, stance, and ice climbing technique. All trips are taught in the front country along Sandpoint Road. Climbs range in height of 20-60 feet.

This course is designed to introduce the intermediate ice climber to some of the larger formations along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore / Grand Island. Upon entering this trip the student must have knowledge of the basic gear and techniques including rappelling, associated with ice climbing. Course locations will be determined the day of your guided climb and will be determined based on weather and lake/ice conditions.

Advance Registration is required for guided trips. Our dates fill up extremely fast- so reserve your adventure today! All participants must read and sign an Assumption of Risks/Liability Waiver.
Cancelation Policy:
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to a scheduled guided trip are eligible for a 90% refund (a 10% administrative fee will be applied). Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to a scheduled guided trip are eligible for a 50% refund (a 50% administrative fee will be applied). No refunds will be given if the cancellation is made in the week prior to the trip.
If the trip does not go out based on a safety or weather call made by our guide, we will work with you to reschedule the trip or offer you a full refund.
